Antique rural scene in watercolour by John W Hepple. Dated 1918. The scene features heathland with a windmill. Framed and glazed (there is some damage to the corners of the frame). John Wilson Hepple (1886 – 1939) was an amateur landscape artist in oil and watercolour. He was born at Whickham, a small country town south west of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Although not a full time artist, he exhibited regularly in the North East mainly at the Artists of the Northern Counties exhibitions at the Laing gallery. Frame 43.5cms x 33cms, visible image 27cms x 17cms.
