LILY GREENWOOD ORIGINAL ARTWORK. Acrylic, Paper, Ink, Varnish, Pen on Canvas. The colour palette is designed to be vibrant and bold without being garish. The artist has developed a unique way of working, using reproductions of her own painting and printmaking studies as collage material on a canvas. They are meticulously painted, reproduced, and cut, ready to use on the canvas. The background is painted with acrylics. The use of collage allows the freedom to play with the composition in a way which would otherwise be impossible, allowing quick changes until a design is settled upon. When the collage is fixed in place, washes of ink have been applied. Finally, a glossy varnish enhances colour, adds protection, and offers an opulent shine. Unfortunately there are a couple of blemishes to the left centre side of the canvas, and what look like very tiny paint spots littered around the painting generally all seen on the images, and reflected in the price. Fantastic nonetheless. The canvas is stretched on a deep edge wooden frame with painted sides. Included is a made to measure floating frame, to enhance the effect. I gather this is standard by this artist. Signed by the artist bottom left, and her name engraved on the back of the frame bottom centre. See what you think.
